Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI)
Brain injuries are invisible injuries with long-term consequences. Invisible in the sense they do not show up on brain imaging scans, i.e- CT scans or MRI. Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) change people in an instant. The process of recovery and rehabilitation after a TBI can be a frustrating and disheartening road to navigate. One of Dr. Stephey’s major constituencies is individuals who have sustained a brain injury. He is a repeat presenter at Bridging the Gap, a Claremont, California based support group for individuals with TBI or other brain-changing conditions. Many of Dr. Stephey’s patients with TBI find significant improvement through nutrition therapy, vision therapy, and / or neuro-lenses (eyeglasses with prisms, low-plus lenses, or colored lenses). If you or someone in your family is recovering from a TBI or other brain-changing condition, contact Dr. Stephey to learn more about the role of vision in TBI recovery or visit our Resources page for more helpful information.
